Short answers about pre-orders, delivery, the robot and support. Can’t find yours? Contact us.
When will my Microduck ship?
Current estimate: 4–6 months from your order date, in order of purchase. Orders ship in the order they were placed, and we email you when yours is packed, with tracking.
Do I pay now or later?
You pay the full price when you place your pre-order. There is no deposit and no second payment. If you cancel before dispatch, you get everything back.
Can I cancel my pre-order?
Yes. Email us any time before your order ships and we refund the full amount to your original payment method. After delivery you also have your normal right to return it.
Where do you ship?
The United States, Canada, all EU countries, the UK, Norway and Switzerland. US and Canadian orders are priced in USD; European orders in EUR.
Are taxes included?
Sales tax or VAT for your address is calculated at checkout and shown before you pay.
What comes in the box?
The robot, one battery, a USB-C cable and a game controller. That is everything you need to play on the first day. The packs add spare batteries, spare parts and play accessories.
How long does the battery last?
About an hour, depending on what the duck is doing. The battery is a standard NP-F550 camera battery and slides out, so a spare from the Charger pack keeps it going.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. It walks, kicks, sits, picks things up and gets back on its feet with the included controller. Coding and training your own moves is there when you want it.
Is Microduck open source?
The software is: the SDK, the simulation and the reinforcement-learning training stack are on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 licence. The mechanical and electronic design files are not open source.
Is it suitable for children?
Pollen Robotics has not published an age recommendation yet. It is a real robot with small parts and a removable battery, so younger children should play with an adult nearby.
